The Pennsylvania Water Rescue Instructors Association’s Chris A. Calhoun Water Rescue Education Award acknowledges individual instructors who have utilized the Pennsylvania Fish & Boat Commissions Water Rescue Program in providing outstanding leadership, dedication, and a passion to teach and inspire students over the course of the past calendar year. Chris A. Calhoun is a the Pennsylvania Fish & Boat Commission’s lead water rescue instructor trainer and is responsible for developing the program’s curriculum and instructor training.
The Pennsylvania Water Rescue Instructors Association’s Daniel G. Martin Water Rescue Team Excellence Award is for teams that go beyond the program guidelines in performing water rescues according to the standards established through the Pennsylvania Fish & Boat Commission's Water Rescue Program. Daniel G. Martin retired as Director for the Bureau of Boating and Access in 2010. Daniel G. Martin served 20 years as the water rescue program manager and provided outstanding leadership, direction, and guidance for the program.

Ketterer Water Rescue Excellence Award is for individuals that go beyond the program guidelines in perform in water rescues according to the standards established through the Pennsylvania Fish & Boat Commission's Water Rescue Program. Steven M. Ketterer serves as Commissioner with the Pennsylvania Fish & Boat Commission, and has been a strong support over the years though teaching the water rescue curriculums and his work with various water rescue organizations.
